Gran Canaria has one of the largest choices of adults-only hotels in the Canary Islands, and they're not all the same kind of place. Some are polished five-stars beside the dunes, some are lively, good-value hotels a few steps from the Yumbo Centre, and one is a city hotel on Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas. Picking the right one is mostly about picking the right setting.
This guide covers eight adults-only hotels, each chosen for a specific kind of trip, with star ratings, age policies and prices checked in October 2026. If you're still deciding where on the island to stay, start with our Gran Canaria south vs north guide; for every budget and family option, see our best hotels in Gran Canaria guide.

Luxury and Boutique
I. Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel
The most complete adults-only address in Gran Canaria sits right beside the Maspalomas lighthouse, at the western end of Maspalomas beach, with the dunes beginning almost at the door. It's a five-star hotel for guests aged 18 and over, with 179 rooms, a main pool facing the lighthouse and the sea, and a rooftop Sky Lounge pool. Hotel guests can also dine at the Lopesan group's other resorts in Meloneras, and the promenade, restaurants and golf of Meloneras are all within walking distance.
Check the rooftop pool's days. The Sky Lounge rooftop pool has its own opening schedule, separate from the main pool. If it matters to you, check the current days and any conditions with the hotel when you book.
II. Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas
If you want the dunes outside your window, this is the one. Riu Palace Maspalomas is a five-star adults-only resort on the very edge of the dune reserve at the Playa del Inglés end, with large pools, gardens and a raised position that gives many rooms and terraces views over the sand to the sea. It's bigger and more resort-like than Hotel Faro, and a short walk from the beach across the dunes.
III. Bohemia Suites & Spa
The island's design-led adults-only choice: a boutique hotel in Playa del Inglés with suites instead of standard rooms, a spa and a rooftop restaurant and bar looking out over the dunes to the ocean. It's calmer and more intimate than the large resorts, but close enough to the beach and the Yumbo Centre to walk to both. It suits couples who care as much about food and design as about the pool.
IV. Hotel Cristina by Tigotan
The only city option in this guide, and a very good one. Hotel Cristina is a five-star on the Las Canteras promenade in Las Palmas, for guests aged 16 and over, with an outdoor pool and terrace above the beach and the restaurants of the promenade at the door. It suits couples who want a real Spanish city, its old town and its food, with one of Europe's best city beaches across the road. Our Las Palmas city guide covers what to do around it.
Beachfront, All-Inclusive and Value
V. Corallium Beach by Lopesan Hotels
Corallium Beach is officially a three-star, but it has something most of the bigger names don't: it sits directly on San Agustín beach, the quiet end of the southern resort coast, around three kilometres from Playa del Inglés along the promenade. It has 210 rooms with balconies, two pools — one heated in winter — a naturist sun terrace on the sixth floor and an all-inclusive option, and guest scores of around 9 out of 10. It's the best-value way to wake up on the beach without children around.
VI. MUR Hotel Neptuno Gran Canaria
A four-star adults-only hotel next to the Yumbo Centre in Playa del Inglés, with 166 rooms, an outdoor pool heated in winter, massage and beauty treatments, a sauna and a 24-hour gym. All-inclusive rates are available, and a free shuttle runs several times a day to the beach and the Maspalomas lighthouse — useful, because the sand is around a kilometre away. It's a good choice for couples who want an easy, all-inclusive base in the centre of the action.
VII. Servatur Don Miguel
The liveliest hotel in this guide. Servatur Don Miguel is a large adults-only (18+) hotel in Playa del Inglés with 286 rooms, a busy pool deck with a bar and hot tub, live shows in the evening and two restaurants. Officially it's a three-star, but guest scores of around 8.6 out of 10 reflect friendly staff and good value. The beach is about a kilometre and a half away, with a free beach shuttle, and the Yumbo Centre is a few minutes away.
VIII. Hotel Nayra
Small, modern and consistently one of the best-rated hotels in Playa del Inglés, with guest scores of around 9.5 out of 10. Nayra has just 46 rooms in two low-rise buildings on either side of a quiet side street, each with its own pool, heated in winter. Every room has a terrace, there's a chill-out area with Balinese beds, a gym and a massage room, and the Yumbo Centre is directly opposite. It's long been popular with LGBTQ+ travellers. The beach is about a kilometre away, a 15-minute walk.
Choosing Your Area
Meloneras and the lighthouse (Hotel Faro) are the most upmarket and relaxed: the end of Maspalomas beach, the dunes, a promenade of restaurants and three golf courses nearby. Playa del Inglés (Riu Palace Maspalomas, Bohemia, Neptuno, Don Miguel, Nayra) is the busiest resort, with the most bars and restaurants and the Yumbo Centre, one of Europe's best-known LGBTQ+ nightlife hubs; most hotels here are a short walk or shuttle from the sand. San Agustín (Corallium Beach) is quieter and more residential, with its own beach. And Las Palmas (Hotel Cristina) is a real city, with Las Canteras beach, the old town of Vegueta and the island's best food scene.
Quick verdict
For a special trip, book Hotel Faro or Riu Palace Maspalomas. For design and dining, Bohemia. For the beach on your doorstep at a fair price, Corallium Beach. For nightlife and value, Nayra, Neptuno or Don Miguel. For a city break, Hotel Cristina.

Frequently Asked Questions
Final Verdict
Hotel Faro remains our first choice: five stars, adults only, and the best location on the island, between the lighthouse, the beach and the dunes. Riu Palace Maspalomas is the alternative for a bigger resort with dune views, and Bohemia for design and food. If value matters more, Corallium Beach puts you on the sand for much less, while Nayra is the small, quiet hotel with the best guest scores. For a city break, Hotel Cristina is the only adults-only hotel we'd book in Las Palmas.
